Chris Wood scored for Leeds United against Ipswich Town in the Championship on Saturday.
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that Chris Wood epitomises what the team are doing at the moment.
Wood has been in superb form in recent games and has established himself as an indispensable player for Leeds.
The New Zealand international striker scored the winner for the Whites against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.
The former Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion man found the net in the 35th minute of the Championship game at Elland Road to guide the Whites to a narrow 1-0 victory.
Wood has scored in all four wins in a row for Leeds, and head coach Monk has spoken highly of him.
“At this moment in time, Chris epitomises what the team are doing, taking that step forward and trying to put our best football on the pitch,” Monk told The Yorkshire Evening Post.
Wood has injury problems last season, but the 24-year-old still managed to score 13 goals and create 39 chances in 35 Championship matches for the Whites.
So far this campaign, the striker has scored five goals and created four chances in nine Championship games for Leeds.
Leeds are 12th in the Championship table at the moment with 13 points from nine matches, just three points behind sixth-placed Birmingham City.
