Garry Monk has been linked with becoming the new West Bromwich Albion boss.

Garry Monk has told Sportskeeda that he isn’t close to becoming the new West Bromwich Albion manager, but he is looking to get back into the game.
West Brom lost 2-1 at home to Huddersfield Town in a crucial relegation clash on Saturday afternoon, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, seven points adrift of safety.
The Baggies have won just three times all season and are now staring at needing three wins and other results to go their way to get out of trouble, with Alan Pardew now under increasing pressure.

Pardew was only brought in as Tony Pulis’ replacement back in November, but his torrid record with West Brom means that he is already being tipped for the sack as the Baggies look to save themselves.
A host of names have been linked with the job, and one is Garry Monk, who is out of work having been sacked by Middlesbrough in December and replaced by – ironically – ex-West Brom boss Pulis.
Monk, 38, was a burgeoning young manager with Swansea City before being sacked in 2015, and he looked to be doing a decent job with Leeds United last season before leaving in the summer for Middlesbrough.

Monk was sacked after just 12 wins in 26 games with Boro, and now finds himself out of work and needing to be a success in his next job to save his managerial reputation at such a young age.
Now, Monk has been asked by Sportskeeda whether he is close to landing the West Brom job, but he says that isn’t true, and he is looking to get back into management for the right opportunity as soon as possible.
“No! not at this moment in time,” said Monk. “Look it’s never good to lose your job but I am ready to go back in and ready to start working. I am waiting for the right opportunity, I am ready to go and when the opportunity comes, I will take it,” he added.
