Leeds United claimed a 1-0 win over Brentford this afternoon.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that he is looking to add one or two new signing to his squad during the January transfer window.
The Whites headed into today’s game with Brentford having beaten Reading 2-0 on Tuesday evening, and with five wins in their previous seven games, Leeds were firmly in the race for a top six place.

Visitors Brentford had won their last two games though, and made life difficult for Monk’s men before Leeds finally broke the deadlock late in the game.
Winger Stuart Dallas whipped a corner into the box, and central defender Kyle Bartley headed home to give Leeds all three points in the 89th minute.
With 57% of possession, Leeds dominated the ball but were struggling to break Brentford down without star striker Chris Wood, as they only landed one of their six shots on target.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk before the match
After the final whistle, manager Monk spoke to BBC Radio Leeds, and responded when asked about his plans for the January transfer window, which opens in a couple of weeks.
Monk suggested that there is no transfer news around Leeds right now, which is understandable given that the window isn’t open yet, but touched on how good the communication was inside Elland Road when he wanted new signings over the summer.
Monk added that he does want one or two new signings to strengthen his squad, but acknowledged that January is a tougher window than the summer, and is sure that the club will again work hard to bring in new additions.
“No news,” said Monk. “Obviously I’ve spoken to the club, and they’re fully aware. Over the summer, me and the club had a good relationship in terms of talking about what I felt that the squad needed, and the club worked extremely hard behind the scenes to try and get those deals done. Of course, it’s not as big a window as the summer window in terms of numbers that you need, but of course we’re looking to bring one or two in, and hopefully they’re the right players and the right type of players that we need to help strengthen the squad.”
“It’s really only to support the squad, and come into a squad that I’m already happy with, but one that we know we need to strengthen, so I’m sure the club will work hard behind the scenes to make sure that happens,” he added.
