Norwich City boss Alex Neil says that Leeds United manager Garry Monk should never have been sacked by Swansea City.
Leeds United boss Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that he appreciates Norwich City manager Alex Neil’s comments about him.
Neil spoke about how harshly he felt Monk was treated at former club Swansea City at his press conference yesterday.
Monk was sacked by Swansea during the 2015/16 campaign, despite guiding the club to their highest finish ever the season before.

And the 37-year-old was pleased of the recognition which Neil gave him for the job he did at the Liberty Stadium.
“Of course, when managers speak about other managers we know what each other go through,” the Leeds boss said. “I have big respect for Alex, I think he’s done a fantastic job. He’s proved a lot of people wrong, and he still is. When he speaks about you in that way, it’s always good to hear.”

Neil will be taking his Norwich side to Elland Road later this evening, as the Canaries are due to face Leeds in the EFL Cup.
Norwich head into the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Preston North End last weekend.
Leeds, meanwhile, picked up a victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their latest outing, to pick up their sixth win in their last nine matches.
