Lewie Coyle was forced off with injury during Leeds United’s cup tie against Norwich City.

Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that Lewie Coyle’s injury must have been serious for him to have to come off during Leeds United’s EFL Cup tie against Norwich City.
Coyle went down late on in the contest, and he was forced off the field as he was in too much pain to continue.
The 21-year-old was visibly disappointed to have to leave the field, but Monk admits that there was no chance he could have played on.

And the 37-year-old manager is now hoping that the youngster’s injury problem will not be too serious.
“We won’t know the full extent for 48 hours,” Monk said. “Coyle is a tough boy, so for him to come off and do the right thing by him, it means he was injured. He would have loved to have carried on.”
Coyle’s injury meant that Leeds had to play extra-time with just 10 men on the pitch, as Monk had used all of his substitutes.

However, their numerical disadvantage did not seem to affect them, as Leeds managed to get through the tie on penalties.
The Whites twice came from behind to take the match to a shoot-out, and then Ronaldo Vieira dispatched the winning penalty.
Even before he picked up his injury, Coyle was unlikely to start in Leeds’ next match against Burton Albion at the weekend.
