Leeds United failed to win against Queens Park Rangers in the Championship on Saturday.
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has told BBC Sport that there was one positive from the team’s failure to win against Queens Park Rangers.
The West Yorkshire outfit played out a goalless draw with QPR at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Monk has admitted that the Whites did not do enough to win the match against Rangers, but the Englishman has outlined a positive from the outcome.
“We never did enough in the whole game to win the game, at all,” Monk told BBC Sport. “We were below, pretty much everywhere, the standards we usually set.
“The positive was we kept a clean sheet and got a point, but we know full well we didn’t perform to the levels we usually do. It wasn’t through lack of effort.
“We keep going and we’re all in it together. We’ll push through and we know we have to be at a better level than we were this week.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts Leeds had 63% of the possession, took six shots of which none was on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors QPR had just 37% of the possession, took 13 shots of which three were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
Leeds are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 66 points from 37 matches.
The Whites will return to action next weekend when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at Elland Road in the league. The West Yorkshire outfit will be aiming to pick up all three points against the Seagulls.
