Charlie Taylor looks set to leave Leeds United in the summer transfer window. The defender’s current contract with Leeds runs out at the end of the season, and no new deal is in place.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis recently told The Birmingham Mail that he is interested in signing the 23-year-old left-back.

Taylor is one of the best players in his position in the Championship and has played well for Leeds this season.

Leeds manager Garry Monk has spoken highly of Taylor, and has stated that the defender has been as committed as the rest of the players despite speculation over his future.

Monk has also revealed the discussion he had with the former England Under-19 international defender at the start of the season.

“It is something new in his life, he’s a young player, a young man and he’s not massively experienced in these types of situations so I sat with him at the start of the season and explained the situation from the club’s point of view and obviously from my point of view and then got an understanding of his point of view,” Monk told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Taylor.

“But Charlie has been as committed as all of them. He had an injury that kept him out and it’s been a difficult season I would say for Charlie but it is what it is and he has helped contribute to the team.

“He’s trained well, his attitude has been good and he’s a popular lad amongst the players and we will see at the end of the season.”

Leeds have narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship this season and will remain in the division for the 2017-18 campaign.

Taylor has the potential to succeed in the Premier League, and West Brom would be making a smart signing if they secure his services in the summer transfer window.
