Leeds United cannot call on the Swiss full-back just yet.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s Championship clash with Huddersfield on Saturday with his comments published by the club’s official Twitter account.
The two sides return to domestic action after the latest international break with Huddersfield flying high at the top of the table and Leeds down in 21st place after a poor start to the new campaign.

Monk has been without right-back Gaetano Berardi since he went off injured just 22 minutes into the opening weekend clash with Queens Park Rangers, and the Leeds boss confirmed that it will be another seven to ten days before the Swiss defender is back in full training.
In Berardi’s absence Monk has used summer signing Luke Ayling rather than youngster Lewie Coyle, but the former can expect to return to the starting line-up when he is back to full fitness.

Leeds need to build some consistency this season after stuttering during Monk’s early matches in charge.
If they do not, Whites owner Massimo Cellino may get an itchy trigger finger and that would be terrible news for a club that has appointed a manager who can ultimately guide them back to the top flight given time.
