Leeds United lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town in their most recent match.
Leeds United boss Garry Monk has said to Radio Yorkshire that Kemar Roofe missed out on playing against Huddersfield Town because he was injured.
Roofe picked up a rib injury in midweek, and was unable to recover in time to feature at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The 24-year-old may well have started for Leeds against their Yorkshire rivals, but Pablo Hernandez was instead brought in to replace him.
And when Monk was asked to explain the former West Bromwich Albion man’s absence, he said: “He had a rib injury on Wednesday night. He felt that in training yesterday. But it was just precautionary. He’ll have a scan, but we don’t think it’s anything serious.”
Roofe started slowly at Leeds, but he has grown in importance at Elland Road as the season has progressed.
The attacking midfielder has played a vital role as Leeds have climbed into play off contention.
Leeds were unable to get past Huddersfield in their most recent fixture, though, with late winner from Michael Hefele proving to be the difference between the two sides.
Leeds are now in fifth place in the Championship table, and still have a commanding position inside the play off spots.
