Charlie Taylor could feature in Leeds United’s match against Derby County in two weekends’ time.

Garry Monk expects Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor to be available for his side’s next Championship match against Derby County, as per his comments in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Taylor has damaged his Achilles, and has been ruled out of Leeds’ last three matches.

The left-back is still on the treatment table as things stand, but he is set to return to training in the near future.

Monk does not want to risk Taylor in Leeds’ next match, which comes against Cambridge United in the FA Cup.

However, the 23-year-old could come back into Leeds’ starting line-up for their match against Derby in two weekends’ time.

“We’re very hopeful for the Derby game,” Monk said. “I’m sure Charlie will be back in training towards the middle of next week.

“He needed a little rest but it’s an inflamed Achilles rather than anything really detrimental. We just needed to give it a bit of time to settle down.”

Even though Leeds have not had Taylor available in recent weeks, their good form has not slowed down.

The Whites have continued to rack up the victories, to strengthen their promotion push.

Leeds are currently in fifth place in the Championship table – and they have built up a five point gap up seventh placed Derby County.
