Leeds United are right in the mix for promotion to the Premier League this season.

During an in-depth interview with the Daily Mail, Leeds boss Garry Monk explained how important it will be for his current crop of players to grow together as a team, if they are to achieve what the fans so desperately crave – promotion to the Premier League.
Monk has guided the Whites to seventh position in the Championship table, after a rocky beginning to life at Elland Road which saw them take just one point from their opening three league games.
The former Swansea City boss sat down for an extended interview with the Daily Mail, and explained how he is desperate to bring success to the club, and highlighted an area of the club’s setup which needs to improve if they are to move forward:
“We had 3,000 at every game [during their pre-season tour of Ireland]. I want to take them where they deserve to be. Ninety-nine per cent of promoted teams have longevity together. Swansea was built over many years. We can see Burnley, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton doing similar. We are putting down important foundations here.”

Monk certainly deserves credit for, at the very least, bringing stability back to the West Yorkshire outfit, and how far he can take the club will most probably depend on the patience of volatile owner Massimo Cellino.
With Leeds currently sitting just five points adrift of third-placed Reading, for the first time in a long time, this is an exciting period for Leeds fans, and they will be hoping that things can only get better.
