Leeds United boss Garry Monk has provided a fitness update ahead of the team’s clash with Derby County this weekend.

Leeds fans were left concerned with their winger Stuart Dallas after he limped out of action with Northern Ireland during international action.

The left-winger, who only recently came back into the fold after getting time off to fully recuperate from a busy summer, now looks very unlikely to feature against Derby at the iPro Stadium this weekend.

Speaking to TV Yorkshire the Leeds boss had this regarding his fitness:

“Stuey is the only slight change. We’re not 100 per cent sure yet.

“We have another training session to go. We’ll see but I think it’s very doubtful to be honest. You never know, football changes quickly.”

Dallas’s absence is certainly unexpected but fans were well aware that captain Liam Bridcutt would be absent.

He is out of action with a foot injury and is not expected back in action until next month.

But Monk confirmed that he was on schedule with his recovery from the injury and that there had been no cause for concern just yet in his recovery:

“Liam is the only other one that we all know is injured.

“It’s going to take time but he’s rehabbing well and on schedule. Hopefully he will be on the grass with us soon.”

Leeds have been handling themselves well without their captain but his return will still excite fans as he is an important influence in the heart of the Leeds midfield.

Hopefully he remains on track.
