Leeds United are set to take on Nottingham Forest in Championship action this evening.

Garry Monk has confirmed to the Yorkshire Evening Post that Hadi Sacko has won his race to be fit for Leeds United’s match against Nottingham Forest.

Leeds take on Forest later this evening at Elland Road, as they look to return to winning ways.

The Whites were beaten 3-2 by Barnsley last weekend, in a match when they were missing some of their key players.

Leeds’ injury crisis is beginning to clear though, and Monk has confirmed that Sacko will be involved against Forest, while Pontus Jansson will also be available for selection again following his suspension.

“Pontus has done well for us. Having him back is a boost for everyone,” Monk said. “He comes back into the squad and at this stage you need all your players available, to give you the best option and the best chance.

“Hadi’s back involved, Charlie [Taylor]’s still out and Coops [Liam Cooper] won’t be ready but he should be back in training on Thursday. We’ve had a few injuries where we’ve had to rejig but the players are giving 100 per cent and trying their hardest. We’ve had that disappointment but we’ll take it on the chin. We want to try and make amends.”

Leeds go into tonight’s match as the heavy favourites to beat a Forest side who are badly out of form.

The Reds won their last match, but are struggling badly against the drop in the Championship.

Leeds, meanwhile, have their eyes on promotion, and currently sit in third place in the Championship table.

If Monk’s men can win this evening, they will move up to third spot.
