Leeds United take on Wigan Athletic this weekend to pull the curtain down on another Championship campaign.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has been speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post ahead of the club’s Championship clash against Wigan Athletic this weekend.

The Whites end their campaign with a trip to the DW Stadium and with his 12-month contract coming to an end speculation is rife regarding Monk’s future.

Now Monk has confirmed that he has spoken briefly to Leeds joint-owner Andrea Radrizzani and the Italian wants to sit down with the former Swansea City gaffer after Sunday’s match.

“There’s nothing that has been decided yet but I have had contact from Mr Radrizzani this week and he wants to sit down after Wigan,” Monk told the YEP.

“I am looking forward to talking to him.”

Monk looked on course to guide Leeds into the play-offs before a late-season slump saw the Whites slip to seventh.

Their 3-3 draw against Norwich City last weekend ended their hopes of a top-six finish and now it is up to Radrizzani to decide if Monk is the right man to take the club forward next season.

The vast majority of Leeds supporters believe in their manager, and it would be prudent if Leeds stuck with a man who is clearly taking them in the right direction, even if recent disappointments have allowed old wounds to resurface.
