Garry Monk was appointed the Leeds United manager in the summer of 2016.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is thankful to Massimo Cellino.
The former Swansea City boss has said that he is thankful to the Leeds co-owner for giving him the opportunity to manage Leeds.
“I’m very thankful to Massimo for bringing me here,” Monk told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “I’ve had a good relationship with him throughout.
“The communication’s been good and he’s helped to support me from within. I have to give Massimo huge credit.”

Since Cellino first bought majority control of Leeds back in April 2014, the Italian businessman has appointed as many as seven managers or head coaches.
That instability has certainly contributed to the Whites’ lack of success on the pitch, but in Monk Cellino found the perfect manager for Leeds.
Even though the West Yorkshire outfit have failed to finish in the top six of the Championship this season, Monk should be handed a new deal.
If the Englishman is backed in the summer transfer window, then Leeds could even make a push for the automatic promotion places next season.
According to a report in The Sun, Monk will be offered a new five-year contract by the former Premier League club.
