Leeds United beat Reading 2-0 at Elland Road this evening.
Leeds United boss Garry Monk and assistant manager Pep Clotet have taken to Twitter after their 2-0 home win over Reading this evening.
The Whites slipped to a 2-0 defeat away at Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday night, and Monk will have wanted to see a strong reaction from his players against Reading.
Chris Wood scores the first goal for Leeds United against Reading
He got just that, as Chris Wood struck Leeds in front in the first half, putting Monk’s men on course to beat third-placed Reading at Elland Road.
Wood was later taken off injured in a major blow for the Whites, and after some pressure from Reading, Leeds secured all three points as Charlie Taylor’s charge into the box saw him win a penalty, with Souleymane Doukara scoring from the penalty spot.

It’s yet another home win for Leeds and another clean sheet for Monk, and the result takes Leeds up into fifth place in the Championship table, eight points behind second-placed Newcastle – though the Magpies do have a game in hand.
After the final whistle, manager Monk took to Twitter to send a message to fans, stating that it was a key victory as he wanted his side to bounce back from Friday’s defeat at Brighton.
Monk praised the great atmosphere at Elland Road, whilst also hailing his players for showing real character and spirit throughout this evening’s game.
Assistant boss Pep Clotet posted a simple message to Twitter as well, calling Elland Road a fortress having made it six wins in 11 home league games this season.
