Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino faces a huge team selection decision ahead of the Champions League final.
Kane is facing a race against time to be fit for arguably the biggest game in Tottenham’s history on June 1st.
Spurs take on Liverpool in Madrid, as they look to win their first Champions League trophy.
Kane has missed the last chunk of the season after damaging his ankle, but the striker is on course to be back to play against Liverpool.
Kane has begun training again and should be sprinting next week, as he looks to get back up to speed for Spurs.
But Southgate feels that Pochettino may well opt to leave Kane on the bench and stick with the Tottenham players who got past Ajax in the semi-final.
“Spurs might take a view that [Lucas] Moura scored a hat-trick and Son [Heung-min] played well so they keep Harry as an impact player,” Southgate said.
“So without talking to Mauricio Pochettino, I don’t know what his thinking on that will be. I guess that depends on how Harry trains in the build-up to the game.”
If Kane does make it back in time to play in the Champions League final then Pochettino faces a huge decision.
Kane is Tottenham’s best goalscorer, but getting him into the team is likely to mean that one of Lucas Moura, Heung-Min Son, Christian Eriksen or Dele Alli will have to be dropped.
