Tottenham Hotspur fans may be fearing the worst at the moment, with so much speculation surrounding the future of Harry Kane.

Alarm bells started ringing last week when The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported that Kane would like to leave Spurs this summer.

The fears weren’t exactly played down over the weekend as Kane suggested that he is ignoring rumours for now and will decide on his future this summer.

Add in that Manchester City have confirmed that Sergio Aguero is leaving this summer, and a top suitor for Kane has emerged.

England boss Gareth Southgate has now opened up about Kane, having been asked whether the duo have spoken about his Tottenham future.

Southgate has told The Mirror that the only thing Kane has discussed with him is that he is looking forward to the League Cup final and still has hope of breaking into the top four.

“What’s pleased me about Harry this week is that he’s been super positive about everything,” said Southgate. “His view of where the club are at, they’re three points off a Champions League place, League Cup final to look forward to. That’s the only thing he’s discussed with me,” he added.

Spurs face a real battle on both fronts; beating Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final will be a tough ask, whilst Champions League qualification won’t be easy given the intense race for just four spots.

In truth, it would be nice to see Kane stay with Tottenham and continue his affiliation with the club, but trophies will be the leading factor here.
