Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was unlucky to miss out on England’s huge Euro 2020 win over Ukraine, but his return is imminent.
What a talent Saka has proven to be; he was outstanding for Arsenal last season and absolutely deserved his call-up for England.
No matter the position, the situation, the opposition, Saka has been reliable and oozing quality for a long time now.
Some thought that Jesse Lingard should have been taken to Euro 2020 instead of Saka, but England boss Gareth Southgate has been proven right by Saka’s fine displays.
Saka’s injury and Southgate comments
Sadly, Arsenal star Saka picked up an injury in England training on Friday.
Saka took a blow to his ankle and completely missed the 4-0 win over Ukraine, and some were worried that he may miss the semi-final clash against Denmark.
Now though, Southgate has made it clear that Saka is expected to be available against Denmark, and had even wanted to face Ukraine before the England staff decided not to risk it.
“He should be fine,” said Southgate. “He did declare himself available for the (Ukraine) game but we had not really had the chance to see him on the pitch and working at the level we felt would vindicate that decision.
“He will go back into full training with the group on Tuesday and, yes, he should be fine,” he added to the Daily Mail.

Neville wants Arsenal ace back in England team
Saka’s return leaves Southgate with a major dilemma over whether to bring him back in against Denmark.
The fact is that he has an embarrassment of riches. Jadon Sancho was superb against Ukraine, whilst Phil Foden didn’t even get a kick.
Saka was so good against the Czech Republic and Germany, and pundit Gary Neville clearly wants him back in the starting XI against Denmark.
Neville took to Twitter on Sunday to post just six words on the matter, stating ‘same team but Saka back in’.
Neville didn’t say who should be dropped, but Sancho would likely be in danger of missing out on the right flank if Neville gets his way.
