Speaking in his press conference, Gareth Southgate has been praising the Czech Republic, highlighting West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal as two standout players.

The West Ham pair have been integral to the Hammers’ success this year as the London club managed to qualify for next season’s Europa League.

The Czech Republic are of course in England’s group at the Euros, and Southgate is seemingly very wary of the West Ham pair.

“As you say, it’s a good level of opposition, we were beaten in Prague and I was very impressed with the Czechs, and they’ve continued to improve in the last year. As you’ve rightly highlighted, the two lads at West Ham have had outstanding seasons for them and I know that David Moyes is highly impressed with their character as well as their ability,” Southgate said.

Southgate is spot on about Soucek and Coufal.

The pair have been brilliant for the London club this term and they deserve all of the praise that has come their way.

England have a rather difficult group heading into the Euros, and the Czechs could really cause the Three Lions a serious problem especially if Coufal and Soucek are on top form.

Luckily, it seems as though Southgate is well aware of the West Ham pair’s ability, and England fans will have to hope that he’s got a plan devised to nullify their talents.
