Trent Alexander-Arnold has been rewarded with a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for his fantastic season, according to a report from the Liverpool Echo.

The 19-year-old has secured his position in the Liverpool first-team at right-back this term, and has developed his game in both an attacking and defensive sense at a frightening rate.

Alexander-Arnold has previously represented his country at under-21 level, and was invited to train with the senior squad at St George’s Park during the last international break in March, but he is currently uncapped at senior level.

Although the call-up seems somewhat premature, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is convinced the starlet is ready for the occasion.

“Is he ready? Yes, I think he is ready for a lot of things. He is not finished in his development and a lot will come which is really good news,” he said in quotes reported by the Liverpool Echo.

And it looks as though the Liverpool fans agree with their manager.
