Rangers star says he wished he prepared better ahead of life at Ibrox.

Rangers defender Gareth McAuley has told the club website he wishes he handled his summer better.
McAuley signed for Rangers on September 3 after the transfer window closed, joining as a free agent.
The veteran defender says he regrets not spending the summer undertaking a pre-season ‘somewhere’, as he has been left playing catch up since signing for Rangers.
McAuley, 38, left West Bromwich Albion at the end of June after his contract expired.
He has made only two appearances for Rangers, in the past week as a substitute.
Northern Ireland have called him into their latest international squad, which gives him a chance to get further game time under his belt.

He told Rangers’ website his view on his spell in Glasgow so far. He said: “I have enjoyed it, and it has been hard work. In hindsight, I should have gone in somewhere and done pre-season properly, but here I have done the hard work and I feel fit and ready to go and hopefully go away on international duty now and hopefully get some more minutes, and then come back, compete and hopefully get more minutes and push for starts.”
McAuley’s long standing association with West Brom likely would have seen the Baggies welcome him back simply to get fit, while his contacts working alongside various managers through the years would have seen one of them do him a favour.
The centre-back hopes he is up to speed now, but Rangers fans will be anxious that he does not return from the international break with any issues.
