The West Bromwich Albion defender is still performing week in, week out, unlike the Chelsea player.

According to a recent report from the Sun, West Bromwich Albion are leading the race to sign John Terry when he leaves Chelsea at the end of the current campaign.
But why would they bother?
The Baggies already have one seasoned centre-back in the form of Gareth McAuley, with the 37-year-old recently putting pen to paper on a new one-year extension at The Hawthorns.
When you consider the evergreen defender has played 35 times for West Brom this season, including 33 times in the Premier League, the need for Terry is minimal despite the Blues star’s experience.
On top of that, Terry has only managed five league appearances all season for Chelsea, so why on earth would West Brom fork out for his substantial wages when he is clearly on the wane?
McAuley may not be the household name, but he is now a better option than the former England international, and West Brom would be wise to focus their attention on signing a long-term defensive replacement rather than a player whose best days are long gone.
