Everton midfielder Gareth Barry has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, Gareth Barry remains a key part of Ronald Koeman’s plans at Everton next season.
Barry’s future at Goodison Park had been speculated about in recent weeks.
However, Koeman still sees a role for the 36-year-old, who is considers an important part of his first-team squad.

Barry’s importance to Everton dropped as this season progressed, with the veteran struggling to break into Koeman’s starting line-up towards the end of the campaign.
The emergence of Tom Davies, combined with the arrival of Morgan Schneiderlin, knocked Barry down the pecking order.
But Koeman still wants to keep Barry around at the Merseyside club, as he considers his experience vital.

Everton are expected to invest heavily in their first-team squad this summer.
But Barry looks set to remain around, even though he is likely to be a covering option next term.
