Gareth Bale laments a lack of trophies won at Tottenham.

Gareth Bale will face Tottenham Hotspur later this year after his Real Madrid side were drawn in the same Champions League group.
Bale left Spurs in 2013 and has gone onto win one La Liga title and three Champions League trophies for the Spanish giants.
Tottenham have not won a trophy during the years since he left, and Bale did not lift a trophy during his time there.

He said: “‘It was a shame we didn’t win as many trophies as I would have liked.
“I’ve spoken to Luka [Modric] about this. We were there or thereabouts to win the league and we kind of just dipped at the end.
“When you look at the team we had at the time, we feel that we should have won something.”

Tottenham’s team under Harry Redknapp reached the Champions League quarter-finals in 2010/11, but they could only finish fifth in the Premier League the same year and were denied the chance to follow on with that same momentum.
More close calls and bad luck followed in subsequent seasons before Modric and Bale made their departures.
Spurs finally returned to the Champions League last season and after a disappointing group stage exit they will be determined to go one better this campaign, but a tough group – and Bale – stand in their way.
