Gareth Bale has broken his silence after Tottenham Hotspur’s League Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

Bale has not posted at all on social media since Tottenham’s loss at Wembley.

However, he finally made a comment last night, as he insisted that he would be focusing on the rest of the season now.

For Spurs fans these last few games could be the last they see of Bale in their shirt.

Bale’s return to Tottenham was hotly anticipated at the start of the season, but he hasn’t had the impact many predicted.

That was largely down to Jose Mourinho, who declined to use Bale regularly during his time in charge.

The Welshman was again left on the bench as Spurs took on City on Sunday, only to be introduced late on by Ryan Mason.

Many observers were shocked by that decision, especially as Bale had such an impact in Mason’s first game in charge of Spurs.

Bale has previously commented on his future and said that he expects to return to Real Madrid in the summer, when he will assess his options.

Given his high salary and inconsistent impact, Spurs may well decide to look elsewhere rather than take an option to loan him again for another year though.

Tottenham still have plenty to play for in the final few games of the season, as they look to claim a top four spot, but it looks likely that they will have to win them all if they are to have any chance of landing a Champions League spot.
