One former Tottenham icon comments on a current one.
Tottenham’s Dele Alli in action with Burnley’s Joey Barton
Dele Alli is Tottenham Hotspur’s brightest talent, making an incredible impact in just his second Premier League season.
The 21-year-old has netted 19 goals in all competitions for Spurs this season, and is not done yet.
Former Tottenham hero Gareth Bale has been impressed by Alli’s exploits, speaking to the London Evening Standard.
The Real Madrid superstar even dropped a not so subtle hint that he believes Alli could thrive outside of Tottenham.
He said: “In terms of his ability, he could play wherever he wants.
“He has achieved so much in a short time that he must have great confidence in his ability to affect games at a high level.”

Alli is further along ahead than Bale was at his age, who was suffering a crisis of confidence in his early days at Spurs under Harry Redknapp.
Bale found success in 2012/13, earning a world record transfer to Real Madrid. The Times reported earlier this year that for Tottenham to consider selling, they would only accept a fee above the £86 million they received for Gareth Bale.
