Gareth Bale may have left Tottenham in 2013, but he has not forgotten his former club.
As he prepares for his latest Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid, Bale offered praise of the Premier League side.
Tottenham are flying high in second place, applying pressure to league leaders Chelsea.
This season could be too much for Spurs to turn their fortunes around, but Bale believes as many do that they are well set up under Mauricio Pochttino for future success.
The Telegraph reports: “Bale believes that Spurs have laid “the foundations” to win the Premier League at some stage in the foreseeable future. “They have a great manager and a young, hungry spine to the team.”

Whether Bale returns to re-join them as the missing piece was not addressed, but it remains the dream scenario for Tottenham fans.
He is for now perfectly content, and driven, to succeed further at Real Madrid and to keep breaking barriers for the Spanish side, as they bid to become the first team to retain the Champions League.
