The former Nigerian international is impressed by Musa’s recent form.

Former Nigerian international Garba Lawal has been speaking about the performances of Ahmed Musa at Leicester City so far this season.

Former Roda JC winger Lawal, who finished his career with 53 caps with the Super Eagles, was speaking to the Daily Trust in Nigeria when he had this to say about Leicester’s exciting forward:

“Like any other Nigerian, I am excited by the performance of Musa. He is now scoring and that is good for his confidence and the Super Eagles.

“We need our strikers to be at their best when we take on Algeria. I am confident that the Premiership strike force will yield dividends when we play against Algeria.

“On a good day, the combination of Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Odion Ighalo, Isaac Success and Alex Iwobi can wreck any team.”

Musa had a brilliant pre-season after arriving at Leicester but then went on to struggle in adapting to the Premier League at the King Power.

With competition for places in the team from Islam Slimani, Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki, it was always going to be a tough task to play regular football.

But in recent weeks, as Lawal alluded to, his performances in a Leicester shirt have improved. He has scored in his last two outings against Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur and looks to be getting to grips with his new surroundings.

The striker is now getting into his rhythm and Leicester fans are undoubtedly pleased with that. His pace and raw ability make him a nightmare for defenders and Leicester fans will hope Musa can have an impact again tonight in the Champions League against Copenhagen.
