Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic and David Ornstein revealed that Thomas Partey is fit to face Liverpool.

What’s the story?

Well, this is huge news for Arsenal ahead of their Premier League clash at Anfield this Saturday.

Partey missed the 1-0 win over Watford with an injury, and his availability for the Liverpool game has been clouded in uncertainty.

Now, however, Ornstein has calmed the nerves by claiming that Arsenal’s No.5 is fit and ready to take on Jürgen Klopp’s men.

Before missing the win over Watford, Partey had started the last six Premier League games, so he’s clearly crucial to Mikel Arteta.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are good players, although they pale in comparison to the £200,000-a-week man.

Thomas Partey will be vital for Arsenal vs Liverpool

One thing Klopp’s Liverpool are fantastic at is breaking the lines and playing through teams quickly – they excel at counter attacking.

In that respect, a colossal defensive midfielder disrupting things will be key, or else Arsenal will be played through with ease.

Liverpool are also very combative in midfield with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in there, so Partey’s physicality is hugely necessary.

He also brings plenty of composure to Arsenal.

Klopp’s Liverpool hunt in packs and thrive at pressing opponents, so Partey’s ability to stay calm and play forward will help the Gunners attack at Anfield.

In all honesty, the Ghanaian could be the difference between a win and a loss this weekend, in what will be a very tough game.

For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Ornstein’s revelation…
