
Everton and Leeds United fans were mightily impressed with Jordan Pickford’s performance last night despite his side falling to a 1-0 defeat.
Before Raphinha’s late strike, it seemed as though the game was heading towards a pretty entertaining goalless draw.
There were chances at both ends, with Pickford being the busiest of the two keepers and ensuring that Leeds didn’t run riot after an early opening blitz.
A selection of Everton fans pointed out that their £30 million man [Sky Sports] was one of a very few positives on the night.
Whilst Leeds fans couldn’t quite believe that the previously criticised England shot-stopper produced his best performance against them, they admitted that what they saw was of high quality.
A certain Gareth Southgate was watching on from the stands and he would have been another individual who would have been impressed with Pickford’s showing.
