‘Game lost’: Some Tottenham fans react to news regarding Aston Villa game

Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Mike Dean will officiate their Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday.

In 2015, when Spurs faced Villa at White Hart Lane, Dean was seemingly seen celebrating the home side’s opener.

Given his reputation in the game and the perception of him as a referee, it wasn’t a good look for the 52-year-old even though he wasn’t celebrating.

Well, he’s going to be back in action for a Tottenham game again on Sunday, and against the same side, but this time in the West Midlands rather than in North London.

For many referee’s, it has been controversy after controversy this season and Dean has been involved in his own, most notably featuring two London clubs.

During West Ham’s goalless draw at Fulham in February, Tomas Soucek was sent off for seemingly elbowing Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Dean checked the incident on his monitor and still opted to send the midfielder off even though it was overturned on appeal days later.

After a controversial decision by Michael Oliver in the North London derby on Sunday, the last thing Spurs fans want is more wrong decisions going against them.
