Some Wolves fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano reported they were interested in signing Lille defender Sven Botman.
Botman is one of the best young defenders in Europe, having been a star in Lille’s Ligue 1 triumph last term, and with all due respect to Wolves, this would be something of a coup.
Indeed, Botman was expected to sign for a top club after Lille, with Liverpool and Spurs strongly linked, but now it seems as though Wolves could swoop.
The 21-year-old left-footer would certainly add something to the Midlands club’s backline, and fans are very excited by the prospect of Botman coming in.
Unfortunately for Wolves, they’re not the only club in for the defender. Sevilla also want to sign him, and with the Spanish club able to boast Champions League football it may be a tough race for his signature.
Whether or not Botman ends up signing for Wolves remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, this would be a very popular signing amongst the fanbase if Jeff Shi and his transfer team can get this one over the line.
