Tottenham Hotspur began life in their new stadium with a win as the under-18’s beat Southampton’s youngsters.

First game. And a First win. Tottenham Hotspur have begun life at their new stadium in the most perfect fashion as the club’s under-18’s secured a memorable 3-1 win over Southampton on Sunday.
Both sets of players were given the privilege of taking to the field before anyone else, with J’Neil Bennett being the first man to score at the club’s new iconic stadium.
Not only will the 17-year-old go down in the history books, but he will go down in style because he netted a quite brilliant effort from outside of the area which curled past the opposition keeper.
Harvey White also netted from the penalty spot, while Dilan Markanday made sure of the points on a historic day for the North London club.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was in attendance, alongside chairman Daniel Levy as they took in the view in what is a quite stunning modern day stadium.
Added with that, in the images below, you will also see the goalscorers make their mark, celebrate in style and ensure the day ended in perfect fashion for the football club.
The senior side will take to the field for the first time on April 3 when they face London neighbours Crystal Palace in a crucial Premier League encounter. The dream from the White Hart Lane faithful will no doubt be for Harry Kane to get on the scoresheet first.
Here are some of the standout photos from what was a memorable day for Tottenham, the club and its supporters in general:
