Celtic completed their return to the Champions League on Tuesday night, though it was as not as comfortable an evening as they would have hoped for in their second leg against Israeli outfit Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Brendan Rodgers and his side were boasting a healthy 5-2 scoreline from the first match in Glasgow, though at one point their opponents had come back from 3-0 down to 3-2 in that game, before the Bhoys re-established their three goal lead, and the Hoops certainly needed that cushion as they fell to a 2-0 defeat in Beersheba.

The Israeli champions were just a goal away from going through on away goals after Ovidiu Hoban scored the second of the night just after half time, with former Chelsea forward Ben Sahar opening the scoring.
Craig Gordon had saved a penalty just before Sahar’s header, but Rodgers’ side held on, even though the Scottish giants’ defence looked woefully fragile once again.
But Celtic supporters won’t dwell too long on that, instead looking forward to a first proper Champions League tournament since 2014.
