The Gers maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with another convincing win last night.
Niko Kranjcar
Rangers secured their passage into the second round of the Petrofac League Cup last night with a convincing 3-0 win over Stranraer at Ibrox.
The Gers didn’t take long to get going, with Martyn Waghorn converting from the spot after five minutes following an excellent piece of play from Barrie McKay in the box which gave Ross Barbour no choice but to bring him down.

Mark Warburton’s men doubled their advantage eleven minutes later courtesy of another Waghorn strike when he pounced on a defensive mix-up and duly found the net.
The hat-trick wasn’t forthcoming for the prolific striker however, and it fell to summer signing Nico Kranjcar to round off the scoring on the 53rd minute.
Joey Barton
Joey Barton, who was a constant probing presence in the heart of midfield, teed up the Croatian on the edge of the box and he found the bottom corner with an excellent half-volley past a despairing Cameron Belford.
Rangers should have scored more but the win caps an excellent showing in the League Cup group stage, with final standings of four wins from four games, ten goals scored and none conceded.
