William Gallas has claimed on Instagram that either Tottenham, Arsenal or Chelsea have a ‘great chance’ of winning the Premier League title and he suggested they can take advantage of Liverpool’s problems.
The former centre-back made reference to Virgil van Dijk’s injury and how that is Liverpool’s ‘only problem’ in retaining their crown and he also feels Joe Gomez ‘isn’t ready’ to step up.
At the start of the weekend, Liverpool were sitting top of the pile, but on Friday night Southampton replaced them after their win against Newcastle.
But their lead didn’t last long when Spurs left it late to beat West Brom, but hours later, they were dethroned by Brendan Rodgers Leicester City.
All in all, the lead at the top is changing hands as many times as Fulham are conceding goals this season. Quite a lot!
Nonetheless, this is Gallas” take on the Premier League title race this season, as he thinks a London club is due to win the English crown.
At the start of this delayed campaign, fans did see a number of crazy results and goal-fest matches, but it seems to have cooled down in recent weeks.
It will be interesting to see, as the season progresses, if the cream does rise to the top or will someone from outside of the usual suspects spring a surprise.
Whilst both Arsenal and Spurs are in Europe, if they were to even mount a strong challenge for the title then that would be seen as a surprise in itself because many felt that they were only top-four contenders.
But it seems with everything that is going on, the door is open for that surprise to happen this season, it’s just a case of taking it with both hands.
