Galatasaray reportedly want Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen.
Galatasaray are in the market for a new striker in January, and a new name has been brought into the mix; Tottenham Hotspur’s Vincent Janssen.
The Dutchman has become an outcast at Spurs, having not even been registered for action this season after falling out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino.
Janssen, 24, has been a major flop since his 2016 move from AZ Alkmaar, and after spending last term on loan at Fenerbahce, he could be on his way back to Turkey in 2019.
Fotospor report that, whilst Galatasaray are considering Liverpool’s Divock Origi, they are now also weighing up a move to sign Janssen once they get the all clear on his medical check having been out injured of late.
Getting Janssen off the wage bill would be great news for Spurs, but such a move may also prove to be a boost for Leeds United and their hopes of signing Mbaye Diagne.
Turkish-Football recently reported that Leeds have continued to scout Diagne after wanting him over the summer, and he has recorded a stunning tally of 11 goals in 10 games this season.
The problem for Leeds has been that Aksam claimed that Galatasaray were keen to offer Diagne a move to play in the Champions League, which would have dealt a huge blow to Leeds’ hopes of signing the giant Senegalese hitman.
Yet, if Galatasaray switch their focus to Janssen, it may just leave Leeds as the frontrunners for Diagne’s signature in 2019, in what would be a huge coup for Marcelo Bielsa’s side based on his staggering goal return this season.
