Gael Clichy has told Stadium Astro that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero would be a good signing for Arsenal.

Aguero will leave City at the end of the season, and Clichy believes that the 32-year-old striker would fit in nicely at Arsenal.

The 35-year-old French left-back, now on the books of Servette, played for both Arsenal and City and is a former teammate of Aguero.

Clichy told Stadium Astro: “Well, I think after City, the club that would suit him the best in terms of play, I would say Arsenal is a good fit. They play good football, the strikers get nice opportunities, but I really doubt he will go there and I am pretty sure he will move on and go back to Spain or something like this.”

Sergio Aguero to Arsenal?

Aguero is one of the greatest strikers of all time and is a City and Premier League legend.

True, the 32-year-old has had injury problems this season and there are signs that he is not at his best, but a good manager can still get two good years out of the Argentina international.

Arsenal are not lacking in strikers. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are top players, while Eddie Nketiah has a lot of potential.

However, Aguero is better than all of them, and given his experience and calibre, he would make Arsenal more potent and a better team in attack.

Whether Arsenal actually make a move for Aguero and whether the striker would fancy a switch to the Gunners remains to be seen.
