Gael Clichy says that he is worried to hear that Kieran Tierney and Bukayo Saka are constantly Arsenal’s best players, as per his comments to Stadium Astro.
Arsenal have not had much joy this season, but Saka and Tierney are two players who can at least hold their heads up high.
The young duo have been an example to some of their more experienced teammates at the Emirates Stadium.
But Clichy is concerned that the Arsenal duo seem to be getting all the praise, as he feels it shows that more senior players aren’t taking responsibility.
“I think nowadays there is no age and age doesn’t mean anything, but saying that you wouldn’t wish for those two players to have all that pressure on their back,” Clichy said.
“I don’t even feel that these players feel that they have weight on their shoulders, because they are honest guys.
“But what I want to say is that the question is are we turning all the focus towards the academy or going to be a club like Manchester CIty, who are not scared to spend a bit of money to be competitive?

“The fact that those two young players are the ones that we constantly hear in the newspapers, the journalists and the pundits saying are above everyone else is worrying because there are other players who should be able to take care of that.”
Tierney and Saka were once again two of Arsenal’s brighter performers in their last outing, but their efforts were not enough to get the Gunners back to winning ways.
Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening, as they slipped to yet another concerning defeat.
Arsenal are now stuck in 15th place in the Premier League table, and sit just four points above the drop zone, with genuine fears emerging that they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
