Gael Bigirimana opens up on Rangers loan spell

Motherwell midfielder Gael Bigirimana was at Ibrox outfit Glasgow Rangers on loan from Newcastle United during the second half of the 2015-16 season.

Motherwell midfielder Gael Bigirimana has revealed to The Daily Record that during his loan spell at Rangers he had to train on his own.

Bigirimana spent the second half of the 2015-16 season on loan at Rangers in Scotland from English club Newcastle United.

The youngster, though, failed to make a single appearance for the Ibrox outfit due to a medical condition, as reported by The Daily Record.

The Gers were then in the Scottish Championship, and at the end of the 2015-16 campaign they gained automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

Bigirimana, who has joined Scottish Premiership club Motherwell in the summer transfer window, has opened up on his loan spell at Rangers.

The former Coventry City youngster has admitted that it was frustrating for him at Ibrox, and has revealed that he had to train on his own as well.

“I know there was a lot of aggro going on behind the scenes but for the boys who came up from Newcastle, we were excited to go to a club like Rangers and get some game time,” Bigirimana told The Daily Record.

“For some of them, it worked out well but for me it was just one of those things in life where there was a misunderstanding. Clubs have to protect themselves but in the end it made me stronger. I met some great people.

“But I didn’t even train with the team. I had to do my own sessions. These things are in the past and there’s no point in digging up the things that have been buried. It was out of my hands.”

Bigirimana is a talented and promising young midfielder, and the 23-year-old will be determined to be a success at Motherwell.

The former Newcastle midfielder will be keen on establishing himself in the Motherwell first team and take the Scottish Premiership by storm this season.
