Arsenal are in Europa League action this evening, as they host Irish side Dundalk in their second group game.

The Gunners narrowly beat Rapid Vienna last week, and having lost to Leicester City on Sunday, they need to bounce back tonight.

On Wednesday, Arsenal received what appears to be a major boost, even if it may not exactly impact tonight’s game.

Attacker Gabriel Martinelli was spotted in training yesterday, stepping up his return to fitness after a lengthy absence.

The Brazilian talent picked up a knee injury earlier this year, and having failed to heal up without surgery, he went under the knife in June – three months after his last appearance.

Many expected that Martinelli wouldn’t return until early 2021, as he was thought to be looking at a six-month lay-off.

However, Martinelli was in light first-team training yesterday, suggesting that he may well be back ahead of schedule in a huge boost for Mikel Arteta given that he hit 10 goals in 26 games last season.

Martinelli, 19, will only return to full first-team training by the end of the year, but that he is already out doing work and engaging in aerial battles with Gabriel Magalhaes – as seen below – suggests that he isn’t too far away now.
