Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has posted on Instagram after going off injured against Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
The forward had only just come back from a long-term injury, so it was rather concerning to see him come off with another problem against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Luckily, it seems as though the issue he picked up against City isn’t all that serious, as he posted a very reassuring message on Instagram,
This is exactly what every Arsenal fan will have wanted to see today.
Of course, the 4-1 loss to City wasn’t ideal, but the more alarming thing to come out of that match was Martinelli being taken off as the young attacker has only just come back, so another setback could have had catastrophic knock-on effects when it comes to his development.
However, there seems to be no need to worry about Martinelli’s fitness as he says he’s feeling fine and ready to go again.
Whether or not that indicates that he’ll be playing against Chelsea at the weekend remains to be seen, but the fact that he is seemingly in contention is a massive boost as his assist to Alexandre Lacazette against City showed exactly what he can bring to a side that has been struggling to create chances lately.
Fingers crossed this is the start of a run in the team for Martinelli.
