Speaking in the latest copy of FourFourTwo magazine (May 2022, page 36), Gabriel Martinelli has been discussing what it’s like to play alongside Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
The Brazilian winger is a part of one of the brightest trifectas in English football at Arsenal alongside Saka and Smith Rowe.
All three players are incredibly exciting and fearless attacking midfiedlers who are under the age of 21, and if they continue to develop together, they could be a force for years to come.
Martinelli says that he finds it very easy to play alongside the two youngsters, stating that they’re already among the world’s best players.

Martinelli was asked how he finds playing alongside Saka and Smith Rowe.
“It’s easy, you know? We’re all about the same age and enjoy the same things, so it’s great to have them by my side on the pitch. They’re already among the world’s best players and you can see that by the stats – they’re the two under-21s with the most goals and assists in the Premier League. When we’re all on pitch, there’s obviously the pressure of playing for Arsenal – we know the responsibility we have – but perhaps because of our age, we play more freely.”
Among the best
Gabriel Martinelli says that Saka and Smith Rowe are among the best players in the world, and while that sounds like hyperbole, he’s not wrong.
Just look at the numbers they’ve been putting up this season. Saka has more goal contributions than players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and even Sadio Mane, while Smith Rowe isn’t far behind.
These two are absolutely flourishing at Arsenal, and while they’re both still so young, they’re certainly two of the most talented footballers on the planet right now.
