Gabriel Martinelli has sent a two-word response to Arsenal’s win last night.
Arsenal marched into the fourth round of the EFL Cup with an easy 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at the Emirates Stadium.
Martinelli started the game and won the penalty which saw Alexandre Lacazette open the scoring in the first half.
Here’s how the Brazilian wonderkid reacted to the win on Twitter:
Excellent
It was an overall excellent performance from the 20-year-old.
Martinelli doesn’t often get a spot in Mikel Arteta’s first XI for Premier League games but, despite not scoring last night, certainly impressed in a big way.
Anything that Arsenal created usually came from him but by the same token, he lacked a bit of composure at times too.
But this is still just a 20-year-old kid and no doubt he’s going to get a lot better.
After all, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp called him a talent of the century back in 2019 and there’s a reason for that – he’s exceptionally gifted.
And hopefully Arsenal fans see more evidence of that this season but he only showed it in glimpses last term.
