Despite being a huge talent, Gabriel Martinelli is a bit of a forgotten man at Arsenal these days.
The 19-year-old sensation hasn’t kicked a ball for the Gunners in a competitive game since February after injury ruled him out during Project Restart.
In fact, it’ll be quite a while longer before Arsenal fans see their Brazilian gem in action again after Sky Sports News reported in July that this knee issue would rule him out until the end of the calendar year.
By virtue of the fact that he scored a wonder goal at Chelsea earlier this year, and was labelled ‘talent of the century’ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp last season, you could say that Martinelli has a very bright future in football.
And the player himself has told fans of the Emirates Stadium outfit that he’ll ‘be back stronger’ when his return does come.
Quite a few players in North London have improved in a big way under Mikel Arteta’s coaching, like Eddie Nketiah, Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka to name a few.
And it’s so exciting to consider how much better Martinelli could become while working under the young Spanish manager.
Arsenal fans may not see him again until 2021, but it’ll be worth the wait.
