Gabriel Jesus has told Arsenal and Brazil fans on his Instagram story ‘I will be back stronger’ after injury ruled him out of the Qatar World Cup.
Arsenal posted on Twitter on Tuesday that the former Manchester City player has had ‘successful surgery’ on his right knee and he will now begin his rehabilitation programme.
It’s a crying shame for the player, his nation and Arsenal themselves because all three are riding a wave, at this moment in time.

Mikel Arteta’s side are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and Jesus has been a key factor behind that.
The 25-year-old’s form on the domestic stage resulted in him making Tite’s squad for the Qatar World Cup and he started his nation’s 1-0 defeat to Cameroon during the group stages, before getting injured.
Whilst Brazil will be able to cope with his absence because of the depth of attacking talent the free-scoring and free-dancing South American giants have, the same can’t be said for Arsenal.
The way the north London outfit tick as a team, their speed of play, ability to create space for their flying young guns – Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka – sees Jesus at the heart of it all.
But now it’s a waiting game and hope for those at the Emirates that their star man is back sooner rather than later.
This is what Jesus posted on his IG story on Tuesday evening: “God is wonderful. I will be back stronger.”, as you can see him pictured on his hospital bed below.
WILL ARSENAL DIP INTO THE JANUARY TRANSFER MARKET?
The few plus points from all of this are that a few weeks still remain before Premier League football resumes, so from that perspective, Arteta and Co. can make a clear decision for the long-term.
If Jesus is out for a while, then they will surely need to dip into the January transfer market, which opens next month.
The issue they face is that it’s hard to replace a player of Jesus’ ability given that he can be an 8/10 without scoring, plus, that club’s door they knock on, will know exactly why Arsenal are calling and will only inflate their price for their player.
