Gabriel Jesus has simply posted on Instagram ‘let’s run’ after he completed his first day in training as an Arsenal player.

On Monday, after fans were made to wait for a long while, Arsenal announced the signing of their new number nine from Manchester City.

The 25-year-old will bring much-needed depth, quality and competition to Mikel Arteta’s forward line, after they missed out on Champions League football last term.

This is what Jesus posted on his IG yesterday, as he accompanied his message with him being put through his paces at London Colney.

BIG PRESSURE ON JESUS’ SHOULDERS

During his time at Manchester City, Jesus hit a high of 14 Premier League goals for Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring side.

The Brazil international wasn’t a regular, nor did he consistently play down the middle, so there are reasons behind him not getting past the 15 mark or getting to 20.

But in north London, he will be hoping that changes because there will be big pressure on his shoulders and he will get his chance to play down the middle.

At Man City, there were plenty of big fish in the sea, from the now-departed Sergio Aguero to the thriving star, Kevin de Bruyne.

But, at his new club, there are fewer star names and big-name players, which puts more limelight on Jesus’ head.

This is a brave move from the player and one that was needed, especially with the 2022 World Cup around the corner.

If things start well for Jesus, including him finding the back of the net on a regular basis next season, then there is no reason why he shouldn’t start Brazil’s opening game in Qatar against Serbia.
