The ink isn’t dry on Gabriel Magalhaes’s contract but he has already irked some Arsenal fans on social media.
The Gunners finally announced their acquisition of the £27 million Brazil centre-back on Tuesday following weeks of speculation.
Gabriel becomes Arsenal’s second signing of the summer and this deal was seen as far more exciting than a Bosman addition of Willian.
In an unveiling video, though, the 22-year-old kissed the club’s crest.
And suffice to say that the gesture hasn’t gone down that well with some fans of the Emirates Stadium club:

Does this mean anything? No, not really.
Arsenal fans have seen their fair share of players kiss the badge down the years, only to quit the club a short time later.
That being said, Gabriel is hardly going to be aware of this, so although it’s a tad disingenuous, it’s really not a big deal at all.
All Arsenal supporters care about is that he plays for the crest and, as the saying goes, they’ll remember the name on the back of it.
