Jack Grealish returns to Villa Park on Wednesday evening on what is likely to be a very sentimental night for the £100m man.
Aston Villa were the club that gave Grealish his big break and the superstar will play against his club for the first time on Wednesday.
Villa, in classy fashion, posted on Instagram to commemorate the occasion, and they shared a very touching video along with a lengthy message welcoming the 25-year-old back to the Midlands.
As you can imagine, there was a mixed reaction in the comments, and some fans weren’t best pleased to see the club paying tribute to a player who they feel betrayed them by leaving this summer.
However, Villa legend Gabriel Agbonlahor posted a comment of his own as he tried to be the voice of reason amongst all of the noise.
Agbonlahor says that Grealish still loves the club and he’s urged the fans to not boo their former star.
To be honest, Grealish doesn’t deserve to be booed, he was loyal to Villa for many years, and he only left when a massive club came calling with a lot of money.
He clearly still has a lot of affection for Villa. After all, he told The Telegraph just this week that he’d like to return one day, and we can only hope that Villa supporters remember all he did for them and show him the respect he deserves.
